Floating Village
Located in the Changtai forest, the intervention area encompasses a versatile complex that utilizes locally sourced primary materials, such as bamboo wood and nearby resources. At the heart of the project lies a seamless connection between multiple buildings, creating a platform for villagers to revitalize their local economy through the exhibition and sale of naturally grown and handcrafted products.
The complex offers a variety of functions, including a rural hotel, workshops, a natural factory, and, most notably, markets alongside workspaces for the villagers. The meandering pathway that weaves through the complex takes on a form that harmonizes with the enduring characteristics of bamboo—its elongated, circular, and hollow sections. This elegant plant not only influences the alignment and shape of the path but also serves as a profound source of aesthetic and structural inspiration for the local community.
